Events Near You

Throughout the fall and spring Grinnell admission counselors are on the road visiting high schools and attending college fairs in the U.S. and around the world. If you're on our mailing list, we'll let you know if we're going to be visiting your area!

We also often offer admission interviews when we travel. As long as we have a current, active email address for you, you will receive an invitation if such interviews are being offered. Please respond promptly to the email if you wish to schedule an interview. If you are a first-year applicant who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you may schedule a Skype interview from September through January of your senior year.

Admission Events Around the World

In addition to visiting high schools and attending college fairs, Grinnell's Office of Admission hosts a number of public events for prospective students and their families in cities around the world. We host Grinnell-specific events in select cities every year; these events may include presentations from admission and financial aid staff, faculty, current students, and alumni. We also partner with other colleges and universities to host events that allow prospective students to learn about the similarities and differences among a variety of institutions. For the most current information about our off-campus admission events, please see the list below.

Eight of the Best

Grinnell College is one of a group of eight highly selective, nationally recognized liberal arts colleges known as Eight of the Best.

  • Claremont McKenna College
  • Colorado College
  • Connecticut College
  • Grinnell College
  • Haverford College
  • Kenyon College
  • Macalester College
  • Sarah Lawrence College

The Deans of Admission of these Eight of the Best colleges invite you and your family to a reception held in select cities in the United States every spring and fall. Each college has something distinctive to offer. As a group, they place great value on student-faculty interaction, small classes, and challenging curricula. These colleges send a high percentage of graduates on to graduate and professional schools, and count among their alumnae/i leaders in virtually every field. This free program includes presentations on admission, financial aid, each of the eight colleges, as well as time to speak with the deans individually. There is also ample opportunity to ask questions.
